Calvert is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Mobile County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 277. It is located in the extreme northeastern corner of the county near the Tombigbee River, along U.S. Route 43. German technology conglomorate ThyssenKrupp broke ground on a US$4.65 billion stainless and carbon steel processing facility in Calvert in 2007, which is projected to employ 2,700. The facility became operational in July 2010.
