Announced before as one of the safest cities in Arizona, the City of Gilbert has continued to receive an overall satisfying experience from its citizens until today. Its number of residents has significantly grown from 5,000 to 200,000 in the last two decades only. From an agricultural center that it was before, it eventually evolved into a metropolitan area of advanced science, prominent high-paying business establishments, and very well-improved energy resources. The fact that it contains a number of business sites, it is a clear why there are lots of dwellers that continue to grow at a fast pace. As a result, the city has earned its title as one of the fastest growing cities in the entire country as well. Water Ranch is a major attraction in Gilbert. Here, long winding trails and fishing areas are visited yearly by a lot of tourists and citizens. It also houses the Riparian Preserve, a sanctuary of birds which was also recognized as an Important Bird Area by an environment society. Camping and public viewings are also the highlights of this area. Freestone Park and other landmarks abode the sites from sports and field games in the grounds for play and picnics. The Gilbert Town Square has a long line of restaurants. San Tan Village proudly presents diverse and creative designs of store styles. This city even bears the Hale Center Theater, one of the oldest of its kind in the United States.
