Mountain View is a city in the state of California that lies along the Santa Clara Valley. Maybe you are wondering how Silicon Valley got the name since it is within the Santa Clara Valley. The word “silicon” implies to the high concentration of semi-conductor companies that were sighted in the area while “valley” refers to Santa Clara Valley itself.
