Mississippi is the 31st state that is the most populous within the US. Most of the catfish that are farm raised come from Mississippi. The Magnolia Grandiflora tree is the state symbol. Here are the top ten Mississippi attractions.

10. Maywood Beach

Maywood Beach is located in Olive Branch Mississippi. On July 4th, 1931 the Maywood Beach was opened by May and Maurice Woodson. It was a water park but it's now closed. It's now a private residential development.

9. Delta Blues Museum

The Delta Blues Museum is located in Clarksdale Mississippi. It helps to bring about awareness of the blues. A lot of the museum has many exhibits that go over the tradition of the blues and it also has a sculptor of the photographer Birney Imes and Floyd Shaman.

8. Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo

The Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo is located in Tupelo Mississippi. It's one of the largest zoos that's in Mississippi. Some of the animals that the Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo have include the Black Bear, African Eland, Ball Python and the Rare White Buffalo.

7. Mississippi Petrified Forest

The Mississippi Petrified Forest is located near Flora Mississippi and it's a petrified forest. It's privately owned but it's also opened for public visitation. It also features a nice museum that has examples of wood that is petrified and it also has some fossils which also include footprints of a dinosaur.

The Beauvoir is located in Biloxi Mississippi. It was a notable historic post war home between 1876-1889. The construction of this home started in 1848 and the planter Samuel Dorsey and Sarah Dorsey purchased it.

5. Mississippi Museum of Natural Science

The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is located in Jackson Mississippi. It's one of the biggest museums that's in Mississippi. It was founded back in the year 1933 by Francis A.Cook. The museum features plants, mammals, birds, reptiles and many other things including invertebrates.

4. Vicksburg National Military Park

The Vicksburg National Military Park is located in Vicksburg Mississippi. The Vicksburg National Military Park includes around 1,325 monuments that are historic and it also has makers of earthworks and historic trenches.

3. Hattiesburg Zoo

The Hattiesburg Zoo is located in Hattiesburg Mississippi. It's a very small zoo and has around 12 acres. Some of the exhibits include macaws, jaguars, alligators and zebras. It also has a splash park and a carousel.

The Jackson Zoo is located at Jackson Mississippi. It has over 120 specials and it has a big animal and exhibit collection. It also has the African Rainforest which has the Chimpanzee Island.

The Geyser Falls Water Theme Park is located in Choctaw Mississippi. Some of the attractions include the Thunder Lake, Backsplash, Whitewater Express and Pipe's Peak.
