About Southaven, Mississippi

Southaven is a rapidly growing city in the lands of the Mississippi state. The fact that it has increased its population three times from its original count in just a few years have proven that indeed the city is on its way to becoming a big urban section. Aside from that, its land area also doubled in the last 20 years, giving more room for business activities and residential sites. Due to its location to the south of Whitehaven, the place was named what it’s being called right now, Southaven. The primary reason of the city’s dashing increase in population is the white flight wherein the Whites from Memphis left the area and settled instead in the sections of Southaven. Despite of that, a remarkable increase in the population of Blacks were noticed as well in the last census. The city’s wide parks and beautiful spots also attract more residents in the area. Graceland is a large mansion and a museum housing different arts connected to the legend Elvis Presley, for this was also his estate before he died. The Desoto Civic Center is an arena that can serve as a venue for fairs, boxing events, concerts, hockey, and other fun games. A baseball stadium is situated in AutoZone Park. Many people also head into Beale Street which has blues clubs and food restaurants. Concerts and festivals are also held in this location. Other places flocked with crowds are Memphis Motorsports Park, Southaven Towne Center, Arkabutla Lake, and the Kudzu Playhouse.
