The Top Ten New York Attractions

New York is the state that is the 3rd most populous state that is within the US and the 27th state that is the most extensive. New York usually is very humid and a humid subtropical climate. The Plateau Divisions have cold and long winters but the summers are very nice. There are many exciting attractions in New York. Here are the top ten New York attractions.

10. The Cloisters

The Cloisters is located in New York, New York. It's a museum that was built back in the 1930's. Medieval Europe art is exhibited at this museum along with its architecture. Some of the art works include the Romanseque altar cross and The Hunt of the Unicorn.



9. Six Flags Darien Lake

Six Flags Darien Lake is located in Darien New York. It's a theme park and CNL Lifestyle Properties owns it. The Herschend Family Entertainment operates the park. It has a waterpark, campgrounds and a hotel. Some of the rides include the Mind Eraser, Ride of Steel, Blast Off and Thunder Rapids.



8. Staten Island Ferry

The Staten Island Ferry is located in New York, New York. It's a passenger ferry service and the New York City Department of Transportation operates the service. The service currently has eight ferry boats. It runs 24 hours and the service is free.



7. American Museum of Natural History

The American Museum of Natural History is located in New York, New York. It's one of the biggest and largest museums in the entire world. It has 25 buildings that interconnect which have 46 exhibition halls that are permanent. Annually the museum has around five million visitors. It was founded back in the year 1869.



6. Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge is located within New York City, New York. It's one bridge within the US that is one of the oldest suspension bridges. Back in the year 1883 the bridge was completed. People have bungee jumped over the bridge.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is located in New York, New York. It's one of the largest art museums that's within the US. It has a variety of artwork from Ancient Egypt to classical antiquity. Back in the year 1870 the Metropolitan Museum of Art was founded by some American citizens that wanted to bring both art education and art to the American people.



3. Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is located on Liberty Island that is in New York Harbor. It's a colossal neoclassical sculpture. Frédéric Bartholdi was the one that designed the Statue of Liberty. In the US the Statue of Liberty is also the icon that represents freedom.



2. Central Park

Central Park is located in Manhattan New York. It was opened back in the year 1858. It's a public park. It's also one of the world's biggest urban public parks. Annually the park has around thirty five million visitors.

The Empire State Building is located in Midtown Manhattan New York City. It's a 102 story skyscraper. The Empire State Building is known as the American cultural icon. W&H Properties owns the building. It's currently undergoing a big renovation of around $550 million and $120 million of that is being used to help with making the building eco-friendly and more energy efficient.
