Cornwall-on-Hudson is a riverfront village in Orange County, New York. The estimated population in 2010 was 3,018. The village was founded in 1609 by famed explorer Henry Hudson. It is part of the Poughkeepsie?Newburgh?Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger New York?Newark?Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA Combined Statistical Area.The Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson lies on the west bank of the Hudson River about 50 miles north of New York City and 5 miles north of the United States Military Academy at West Point, near the eastern border of the county. The village is within the northeast corner of the Town of Cornwall.
