About Bend, Oregon
Bend city is situated right in the center of Oregon, enveloped by an amazing setting of forest and lakes. It is a place where you can find the High Desert Museum that features educational displays and exhibits of the arid regions right to the northwest part of the state. The city is filled with a lot of attractions that can lead you to exciting adventures as a traveler. You can start with taking a rafting trip right at the Deschutes River and also make some excursions at the Lava Butte and the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. 22 miles away from the town is the largest skiing area in Oregon which is called the Mount Bachelor Ski Area that is composed of a total of 11 ski lifts. The Cascade Lakes Highway is another scenic route right through the Deschutes National Forest which is also previously known as the Century Drive. The road is about 100 miles long and can pass through mountains, lakes and other spectacular views of nature. You would find a lot of picnic and camping sites even along its highway. The Pine Mountain Observatory is a site that is operated by the University of Oregon and has a total of three telescopes. Other featured attractions that one can find in the city will be Fort Rock State Natural Area, Madras, Redmond and the Sunriver Nature Center and Observatory.
