Eugene is one of the premier cities in the state of Oregon in the U.S. The city is known as The Emerald Empire, The Emerald City and Emerald Valley. Some of these impressive events are the annual Eugene Celebration, Oregon Country Fair, Art & Vineyard Festival, The Lane County Fair, Eugenes Saturday Market, Oregon Bach Festival and The Oregon Festival of American Music. The city is also home of numerous libraries and museums to include the Science Factory Childrens Museum & Planetarium, Shelton McMurphey House, Maude Kerns Arts Center, Lane County Museum, Conger Street Clock Museum, the Oregon Air and Space Museum and many more. The city is also home to the largest library in the state, namely the University of Oregons Knight Library Eugene is also the home of various cultural organizations such as the Eugene Ballet, Eugene Symphony, Eugene Concert Choir, Oregon Mozart Players and Northwest Christian University Community Choir. It would be great if you can visit the McDonald Theater, Hult Center for the Performing Arts and John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts. The city is also the home of Oregon Ducks, which is one of the most interesting football teams in the county next to Oregon State University and University of Washington Huskies, which can be seen at the Autzen Stadium, one of the biggest venues for college football in the county.
