Rapid City is located in the state of South Dakota and is considered as the administrative center of Pennington County. It is the second-largest city in the state and it is named after the Rapid Creek which is a 138 kilometers long. Rapid City is divided into two; the west and the east because of the mountain range division. The place is very much true to its name because rapid means very fast.
